Near the hotel and conceived to celebrate Napoleon’s victories, the Arch of Triumph stands proudly at the center of the Etoile Place in the eight district of Paris. Built in 1806 upon Napoleon’s request to honor the Grand Army.
The Arch of Triumph contains the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in memory of those who fought and died for France during World War I, with its symbolic eternal torch flame. Inside of the Arch, the Museum of the Arch of Triumph retraces the genesis and origins of the edifice.
From the terrace, on can admire, by night and day, a unique panorama of the Champs Élysées as well as a remarkably breathtaking view of Paris and of the « Royal Avenue » from the Champs Elysées to Defense.
